PGA OF AMERICA and the PGA TOUR JOIN FORCES TO LAUNCH PGA LEARNING CENTERS
Callippe Preserve Golf Course in Pleasanton, CA, selected as an inaugural location.

Palm Beach Gardens, FL (May 11, 2015) - The PGA of America and the PGA TOUR recently unveiled the launch of its PGA Learning Centers, an innovative and dynamic golf instruction program that represents a true collaboration between the two associations, and is designed to engage new and existing players alike. The first learning centers launched earlier this month at six inaugural locations in California, including Callippe Preserve Golf Course in Pleasanton, CA.

The cornerstone of the PGA Learning Centers is its progressive development format entitled “Explore. Improve. Advance.” Through the use of this programming platform, instructors customize lessons to meet the evolving needs of students as they gain golfing experience and skill levels improve. As part of the new-golfer lesson series Explore, students receive traditional beginner instruction as well as need-to-know information such as golf etiquette, jargon, and even what to wear when playing a round of golf. The Explore program also offers new golfers several unique playing opportunities, including “Play with the Pro” sessions, designed to get students confidently playing on course within weeks of starting lessons. At the completion of the Explore program, student progress to the Improve and Advance programs, which are designed for intermediate and advanced players. The PGA Learning Centers also offer private instruction, specialty clinics, and junior golf programs, including a full schedule of summer camps launching next month. All programs will be taught by PGA Learning Center-certified teaching professionals.

“We are thrilled to introduce the Learning Center concept which was developed in collaboration with the PGA TOUR,” said Ted Eleftheriou, Golf Program Development Director. “We are certain this unique initiative will bring new adults and juniors to the great game of golf. With our progressive development format, new and existing golfers will see real game development and improvement, and the supportive, non-intimidating environment will ensure students have fun at the same time.”
