This is another winery by Steven Kent Mirrasou, who also operates La Rochelle Winery. While La Rochelle focuses on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Steven Kent focuses on producing Cabernet “that rivals in quality the greatest red wines made anywhere in the world.” Winemakers draw upon grapes from five vineyards in the Livermore Valley, the soils of which resemble those of France’s Bordeaux region, making for perfect Cabernet growing conditions.
Wines: Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Chardonnay, and blends.
Tasting Rooms: The Barrel Room is open daily 12 to 4:30 p.m. The Reserve Room, where wine tasting is combined with pairings of cheeses and meats, is open Thursday – Sunday, call for times and reservations.
In addition to the two tasting rooms, during the summer there are tastings every Saturday and Sunday on The Patio. Shared with La Rochelle Winery (see listing above). |
