This is another Livermore Valley family-owned boutique winery, named for winemaker Tom Doczy’s two sons, Thomas John and Michael Christopher. The first wines he produced in 2001 were a Zinfandel and a Petit Sirah. John Christopher Cellars only produces around 1,500 cases of handcrafted, award-winning, and critically acclaimed wines a year. The winery’s main focus is on Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, and Syrah.
Wines: Chardonnay, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, blends, and a dessert wine.
Tasting Room: Open Thursday and Friday, 2-6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 12-6 p.m.
The elegant tasting room is located in downtown Livermore in Blacksmith Square. It includes a beautiful courtyard, where they hold events like wine release parties, live music, art exhibits, among others. |
