Pleasanton Parks

Pleasanton, CA has an abundance of excellent parks that will engage you. The city has more than 40 community and neighborhood parks that residents and visitors can enjoy year round, thanks to the mild Northern California climate here.

Beyond these parks, there also are Pleasanton county parks. Shadow Cliffs Regional Park is one of the more popular Pleasanton, CA parks. Shadow Cliffs is in Pleasanton and not far from the nearby city of Livermore. It’s in the eastern part of the city just off Stanley Boulevard. There are lots of areas to picnic here, and there are even great areas for dogs. Shadow Cliffs also has a lake with a beach. The lake is used for swimming, boats and fishing. The park also has a waterslide. Take note, you must pay to park here.

Two other popular parks in Pleasanton, CA are on the west side of the city. Pleasanton Ridge is known for its great hiking trails and enjoyable views. Pleasanton Ridge is set in an area of the city that has many high-end homes. The hiking trails here can be challenging, but you’ll also get to see some animals on your hike. It’s not uncommon to see cows and woodpeckers. It’s said that mountain lions also live in these hills.

Augustin Bernal Park is a real stunner. It boasts almost 240 acres of open space and eight different trails to hike. This park is enjoyed not only for great recreation but also for its lovely woods and wildlife.
